Every family has its own way of saying goodnight. A few familiar words, the same quiet music, a voice in the dark that says you are safe. Stellina began with a simple question: what if that voice could be there every time it was needed?
Stellina’s story
When Elliot was three months old, something shifted. Falling asleep suddenly needed more. More sound, more presence, more comfort.
At home we found a rhythm, but it took a lot. Music from one app, white noise from another, and my voice on top, three naps a day and again in the evening.
Then came an autumn holiday abroad, visiting family. A new room, a new bed, new sounds outside the window. The rhythm we had built at home was gone in a single evening.
What brought it back was not the music on its own. It was the music together with my voice. The one thing that had travelled with us unchanged.
The room was new. The voice was not.
A child learns the voices of the people who love them long before they understand a single word. Whatever changes around them, the voice is the part they recognise.
So I started to wonder. What if that part did not depend on me being in the room every single time? What if the other parent, a grandparent or a babysitter could bring it with them, at home or far away?
One tap, and your child hears you. Familiar. Predictable. Safe.
That is where Stellina began.

Who is behind Stellina
Stellina is founded by Kristina Krøvel, a brand strategist and entrepreneur from Oslo and the founder of the brand consultancy Four Consultancy. She has spent her career helping companies find their voice. With Stellina, it is the voice of every parent.
The music is composed for Stellina by an international composer who specialises in music for children’s sleep. The app has been shaped together with test families in Oslo, and every voice recording is encrypted and stored in the EU.
What we believe
Your recording is used only for your family’s stories. It is never sold, never used for advertising and never used to train AI models. You can delete it at any time.
No ads and no overstimulation. Stellina is made for parents, not as a screen for your child, and it steps back once the music begins.
All of Stellina’s music is original and composed for children’s sleep, carried by one recognisable Stellina theme on felt piano and music box.
Why we call it Stellina
In Italian, stellina means little star. It is also what parents call a small child they love. Buonanotte, stellina. Goodnight, little star.
A little star is one of the first lights to appear when the evening sky turns dark. It does not chase the night away. It simply stays there, small and steady, until morning.
That is what we want Stellina to be for your child.
A familiar light in the dark, in the voice they know best.
The star is in our icon, in every universe and in the Stellina theme that opens each evening. Stellina is made by Stellina AS in Oslo, Norway, where winter evenings come early and the stars are out long before bedtime.
